I will dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
